Dr. Simon Wing

 

 

Dr. Simon Wing is a Professor of Medicine at McGill University.  Following medical studies and residency training at McGill, he completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School and the National Research Council Canada Biotechnology Research Institute.  He then returned to McGill University and the McGill University Health Centre where his research program has focused on the role of protein breakdown in cells in metabolic diseases, in particular muscle wasting, obesity and diabetes.  The research work has been recognized with election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation.  From 2003-2011 he served as Director of Adult Endocrinology and Metabolism at McGill University and Director of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Dept. of Medicine at the McGill University Health Centre. He is presently Leader of the Metabolic Disorders and Complications Program at the McGill University Health Centre Research Institute.  His clinical work is in diabetes and general endocrinology.
